The short version
Smile Press is a reader-funded platform. We do not sell your data. We do not serve ads. We collect only what we need to provide the service, and we keep it secure.
What we collect
We collect your email address and an encrypted password when you sign up. We log your reading activity (which articles you read, save, and like) to personalise your feed and track trial status. We collect standard server logs (IP addresses, browser, device) for security and abuse prevention.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. We do not share your email address with third parties except where required by law.
Payments
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at privacy@smilepress.com or through your account settings.
Cookies
We use a single, strictly necessary session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.
